Help Sunny Stay on the Mammoth Mountain Snowboard Team
Training • Travel • Gear • Temporary Housing (Feb–Mid April)
Hi friends, family, and community
I’m Sunny’s mom, Tricia, and I’m reaching out with a big, vulnerable ask.
Sunny is a dedicated youth snowboarder who has earned an incredible opportunity: she’s on the Mammoth Mountain Snowboard Team. She has spent the last two years working for this—training hard, showing up early, and choosing commitment over comfort.
Now we’re at the point where consistency matters most… and competitive snowboarding comes with very real costs.
We’re raising $30,000 to cover the season essentials: team fees, training support, travel, gear, tuning, athlete fueling, competitions, and temporary housing in Mammoth (Feb–mid April) so Sunny can train consistently and stay on track.
If you’ve ever believed in someone’s dream—and their work ethic—thank you for being here.
⸻
Sunny’s Story (the moment it became real)
Sunny first clicked into skis at four years old and basically grew up in the mountains—winter weekends, early mornings, chairlift rides, cold cheeks, and that big smile that never quit.
A few years ago she tried snowboarding for the first time, came home, looked at me and said:
“Mom… I think I want to be a pro snowboarder.”
And she meant it.
Since then:
• She’s built school projects around snowboarding and snow sports culture
• She started a snowboard club at her high school to build community
• She’s trained season after season and put in serious time to improve
• She even adjusted her eating habits (by her own choice) to support her body as an athlete
This isn’t a phase. This is her passion, her purpose, and her happy place.
⸻
Why we’re fundraising now
Sunny has a spot on a real team in a real training environment—and the window to grow this season is right now.
To support her fully, I’m relocating temporarily to Mammoth February through mid-April so she can:
• train consistently with her team
• compete throughout the season
• have a stable home base and a parent present
This isn’t a permanent move—it’s a short-term season setup so Sunny can stay consistent, safe, and fully supported.
I’m doing everything I can on my own… and I can’t carry every piece alone. So I’m asking for help.

Where the funds go (transparent season breakdown)
Season estimate: Feb–mid April (3.5 months)
• Team fees owed (MMSST): $2,500
• Temporary housing + utilities in Mammoth (3.5 months): $12,000
• Parent season pass balance (required to support training/transport): $1,000
• Travel to/from Mammoth + transportation: $1,000
• Board waxing + tuning supplies (14 weeks): $550
• Groceries + athlete fueling: $2,500–$4,000
• Local transportation (gas, winter driving, errands): $1,000–$2,000
• Competitions + memberships + entry fees: $700–$1,500
• Gear, repairs, tuning, replacements: $1,100–$3,400
• Utah training trip (2 ride days; flights + lodging covered): $800–$1,800
Estimated total needed: $23,150–$29,750
Our goal is $30,000 to include a small cushion for processing fees and inevitable seasonal surprises (repairs, weather shifts, travel changes), so Sunny can stay consistent all season.
⸻
If you like giving in a specific way
• $25 helps cover waxing/tuning supplies
• $75 supports gas/local winter driving
• $150 supports athlete fueling for the week
• $250 helps with competition/travel costs
• $500 makes a real dent in housing and season logistics
• $1,000+ becomes a major “keep her consistent” sponsor
Every dollar matters. And sharing this fundraiser is a gift too.
⸻
What you’re really supporting
You’re not just helping pay for a sport.
You’re helping:
• a young female athlete stay in a sport where representation matters
• a disciplined teen protect her momentum during a pivotal season
• a kid who works for what she wants feel supported by community
You’re telling her: We see you. Keep going.
⸻
Thank you (from my whole heart)
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. Thank you for being part of Sunny’s story—whether you donate, share, or send an encouraging note.
With love and gratitude,
Tricia Kidd
