Hi everyone,
We’re reaching out with very full hearts and a lot of hope. Our puppies, Sunny and Harry, have been fighting since the day they were born — quite literally.
Harry was born on April 11th, and Sunny made her dramatic entrance at 5 a.m. on April 12th… in a vet’s car park, no less. They were part of a tiny litter, weighing just 175g each. Sadly, one of their siblings didn’t make it. But these two? They’ve been fighting like champs ever since.
Early on, they struggled to feed from their mama, Lottie. We tried bottle feeding, but quickly noticed something was off — they kept choking. A vet check revealed that both puppies have a small cleft palate, which means they can’t properly suck and nurse.
So, we began drip feeding, and they finally started to gain weight. But the journey didn’t stop there.
Not long after, Harry came down with a cold — a runny nose turned into something much more serious. One terrifying night, he stopped breathing. At the emergency vet, they diagnosed him with aspiration pneumonia — a life-threatening complication where milk gets into the lungs. He was started on antibiotics, and both pups were put on 3-hourly tube feeds to avoid further aspiration.
Tube feeding helped them grow stronger, but it also came with its own risks. Harry had another episode and had to be placed in an incubator overnight. The next morning, we were faced with the hardest decision: put him to sleep or risk and insert a feeding tube directly into his oesophagus — a solution that could buy him the time he needs to grow and eventually get the surgery for his cleft palate.
We chose to fight for him. Because Harry is sweet, strong, and stubborn — and just caught a cold at the worst possible time.
We are doing everything we can to give both Harry and Sunny the lives they deserve, but the costs of emergency care, medication, and upcoming surgery are adding up quickly. We’re not ready to say goodbye to these little angels — not when they’ve already fought so hard.
That’s why we’re humbly asking for your help.
Where Your Donations Will Go:
- Emergency vet visits & antibiotics
- Tube feeding supplies
- Overnight incubator care
- Upcoming cleft palate surgery
- Post-surgery recovery and check-ups
We know times are hard. But if you’re able to donate even a few pounds, or share this fundraiser with your friends and family, it would mean the world to us. Every little bit helps give Harry and Sunny a shot at a happy, healthy life full of belly rubs and stolen socks.
Thank you so much for reading, supporting, and just caring.
