Sunny is my 3-year-old, 4-pound rescue Chihuahua who has brought so much joy and love into our family, especially to my 7-year-old daughter. Sunny is her puppy, and they share a special bond. Recently, Sunny jumped out of my arms to go outside, but landed wrong and shattered both her radius and ulna. The injury has left her unable to walk, and she now struggles with even the simplest daily activities. Taking her outside for bathroom breaks is a challenge, as she has a hard time repositioning her splint, and she was barely able to eat before we got her to the vet.


The veterinarian says Sunny needs surgery to repair her broken bones, along with aftercare and medications to help her recover. Right now, she’s wearing a splint while we try to gather the funds for her operation. We only have five days to make this happen—after that, surgery won’t be possible, and Sunny would have to remain in a splint for 12 weeks with weekly changes. If that doesn’t work, she could lose her limb.


My daughter is heartbroken at the thought of her puppy not being able to walk or losing her limb. Sunny means the world to us, and I want to give her the best chance at a full recovery.
