Help Summer Willis Finish 29 Marathons Strong
Donation protected
Only 63% of sexual assaults go reported! . I didn’t talk about my rape for nearly a decade. All that changed a year ago when I decided to run 29 marathons in a year to focus attention on sexual assault and encourage other survivors to avail themselves of free support. The focus has been expanded to take the shame and stigma out of sexual assault.
I opened up my heart and shared my personal story that touched countless people’s lives. Now that I am just eight marathons away, I am reaching out to you for your support to cross the finish line of this incredible 759.8 mile journey,
This year has been an emotional and physical journey—filled with over a million steps, both literal and figurative. I began this journey hoping not only to prove my own strength but also to inspire just one person who needed it to reach out for free support services.
What’s unfolded has been beyond anything I could’ve imagined. I’ve connected with survivors in over 10 states, toured treatment centers, and had the opportunity to speak out about the reality of sexual assault on morning shows and podcasts. With over 100K views on our YouTube docuseries, and being honored as iHeart Radio’s Hero of the Week, this movement is growing—and we’re just getting started.
The biggest challenge is just ahead. Six marathons in six days in three states followed by Long Beach Marathon and culminating with the 50,000 people marathon in Chicago on October 13.
To mark my 30th birthday, I’ve started a GoFundMe to help me complete this dream. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. Please donate today,
Thank you for helping make this year unforgettable. I couldn’t have done this without you.
