Help Summer Go To Rehab
Donation protected
My name is Summer. I am a trans girl and an addict struggling to recover from a fentanyl and methamphetamine addiction. My current living situation is not meeting my recovery needs. Living in a house where I experienced much of my active addiction and being down the block from my dealer has made staying sober nearly impossible, and I have already experienced several relapses in my current living situation.
The last two years were especially rough on me, and in 2022 my long-term issues with addiction escalated. I began using fentanyl frequently and in an unsafe manner including using alone and using too much. I feel lucky to have survived but know that my continued survival requires financial support from my community.
Six months ago I started a program of recovery. I found a community to support and facilitate my spiritual growth, but it's been far from easy. I’m committed to working on my sobriety and actively need to focus on it right now, but the inability to meet my basic survival needs is jeopardizing my ability to pursue healing and growth. Staying employed as a trans girl struggling with multiple under-treated disabilities has also proven impossible. I need help to deal with this now. The longer I am in this unlivable situation that facilitates my addiction, the longer it will take to dig myself out. I want to survive so I can pursue my transition goals, cultivate healthy relationships, and live my life.
I’ve decided that it’s become necessary for me to attend a treatment center and move into a sober living house where I can be closer to my AA sponsor and in a community with more trans women and queer people in sobriety. Money that I raise with this DonorBox fundraiser will go to paying for my stay at a treatment center and covering moving expenses. These funds will provide life-changing help to me when I need it most. Thank you for donating to and sharing this fundraiser.
