Hello, my name is Summer Daraio-Rivera. I am a collegiate All-American Olympic weightlifter born in Daytona Beach and from Port Orange, Florida. I am a graduate student, at Keiser University in the Clinical Mental Health program. I have been competing in weightlifting for 7 years with my journey beginning in my sophomore year of High school at Spruce Creek. This is where the foundation of my passion for this sport would start to develop and prosper. After becoming a 2-time FHSAA State Champion, I was offered an athletic scholarship at Brewton-Parker College. My athletic career continued to blossom and I have medaled at many national-level competitions, including becoming a University National Champion in 2021 and Under 25 National Champion in 2023. But my journey has not stopped yet!
Because of my performance at the 2024 University National Championship, I have been formally invited by the International University Sports Federation to represent USA weightlifting as one of the top student-athlete weightlifters in the country! On November 10-15th 2024, I will compete in Cali, Colombia at the FISU America Games! I am extremely excited but this trip is completely self-funded. I must raise $3,000 for the ability to travel, stay, compete, and accommodations. I truly appreciate anything that could be given in support of my athletic pursuit. I want to thank you so much for considering me at this time.
