Revised 06/15/26: Lakota has been such an incredible addition to our family. She has brought comfort, support, confidence, and companionship to Summer each day, especially throughout the school year. Watching their bond grow has been truly amazing, and we are so grateful for the difference Lakota is making in Summer’s life.
Lakota is now coming up on her quarterly training session, which is an important part of maintaining her skills and continuing her service work. We are currently seeking help to cover the cost of her upcoming training so she can continue providing the support Summer depends on daily.
We are deeply thankful for every donation, share, prayer, and kind word. Your support means more to our family than we can ever express. Thank you for continuing this journey with us and helping Summer and Lakota thrive together.
Hi, my name is Russell. I’m the father of Summer. Summer was diagnosed with absence seizures in 2022 and Epilepsy shortly after that. Epilepsy is a disorder in which nerve cell activity in the brain is disturbed, causing seizures. So far this year, Summer has had five very traumatic epileptic seizures. When she has a seizure it leaves our family feeling helpless and terrified. My family and I are wanting to raise funds to get her a service dog to be able to alert when she is having a seizure. The funds needed are $25,000 for Lakota, the service dog. And an additional $5000 to help with homing Lakota
A $5000 deposit of the $25,000 needed was made July 1st to begin training for Lakota. We are very blessed to be working with Mike from Setpoint K9 Training LLC.
