This fundraiser is dedicated to Sumi Dash. She is a proud alumna of Sylhet Agricultural University’s Faculty of Agriculture (5th batch). In 2021, she came from Bangladesh and joined me here in Hawaii, where I’m completing my PhD. Together with our little son, Ahan, we’ve been enjoying life on this beautiful island—until Sumi was diagnosed with colon cancer.
Sumi’s Treatment Story:
- April 2023: A colonoscopy revealed colon cancer.
- 2023–2024: Two major surgeries, multiple rounds of radiotherapy, and chemotherapy in the U.S. Cancer spreads to her liver. Seeking a second opinion, she traveled to India for any available treatment.
- December 2024–April 2025: Sumi has completed one round of CyberKnife therapy plus six sessions each of immunotherapy and chemotherapy. Scans show a positive response—but doctors recommend six more rounds to have a better chance of fighting cancer.
Why We Need Your Help
We have exhausted all personal savings and have been supported by close family and friends. To cover the next six rounds of combined immunotherapy and chemotherapy in India, we need $27,000. Without funds, Sumi’s treatment—and her hope for recovery—will be put on hold.
