Help Sultan Get Life-Saving Tonsillitis Surgery

This fundraiser is for Sultan, also known as Twiga, a refugee living in Germany who works as a freelancer. Sultan has been facing severe health challenges due to chronic tonsillitis, which has dramatically impacted his daily life and ability to work.

Sultan’s condition is serious—he has experienced days where he couldn’t breathe properly and had to rush to emergency services. After months of waiting for surgery in Germany, his scheduled operation was delayed due to hospital protests. With his health deteriorating, Sultan now urgently needs to undergo the surgery in Brussels, where he can receive care without further delay.

Since September, Sultan has been unable to maintain a regular day job due to his worsening condition. He gets sick almost every month, making it difficult for him to perform even as a drag artist, where he continues to push through despite the pain and exhaustion. Doctors have warned that his tonsillitis is unusually severe, with three separate specialists commenting on its size and urgency for removal.

The recovery process from this surgery is expected to take 3–6 weeks, during which Sultan will also need support to cover basic living expenses. While the surgery itself may sound straightforward, this has become a critical issue for Sultan’s health, quality of life, and ability to work again.
