Help Sultan and his family evacuate from Gaza

Hello, I’m Pixie and fundraising on behalf of my friend, Sultan, a 21-year-old student who needs your help to evacuate from Gaza with his 8 family members.

Here is what Sultan wants you to know:

“Today I write to you, my heart is heavy with sadness and my soul is burdened by the weight of loss. Wars have ruined my life, leaving behind a landscape of destruction. I am a 21-year-old student, Sultan Saeed Abu Abed. I finished high school and then joined Al-Azhar University and specialized in applied multimedia at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. I finished my academic year and just as the second academic year was due to begin, the barbaric aggression began against our defenseless people.

The Zionist occupation destroyed our homes located in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip and our interests and university were destroyed. Our dreams and goals became stuck in the air without a home, shelter or future.”

Here is what remains of Sultan’s family home:

“We have moved to an unknown future, so I humbly extend my hand to you. Not as a beggar asking for alms, but as a human being in need of compassion and solidarity to leave the Gaza Strip, resume my studies, and reach my dreams.”

Sultan lives with eight family members including his mother, who ran a hair salon before the war began.

Sultan had dreams of becoming of photographer, all he wanted was to buy a modern, good-quality camera and have his work recognised.

Sultan is an extremely kind and caring individual who also helped to volunteer at Gazan hospitals a while ago.

Now the conditions worsen into the second winter of this continuous suffering. Sultan’s tent has been leaking due to the heavy rain and wind and the conditions around Sultan and his family continue to crumble.

Goals that Sultan and his family need to achieve:

The family needs £1,500 per month to buy vegetables and some basic necessities available in the markets.

The family needs to provide solar energy in light of the lack of electricity so they can operate fans to withstand the current summer heat, which costs £6,000.

The family needs to pay off the debts of the salon they established five months before the war. They have only been able to pay off a small part of its cost, and the debt costs £12,000.

The family needs to leave the Gaza Strip after the war because they no longer have a home, nor a university for Sultan, nor schools for his sisters, nor a source of income for them. The cost of travel when the borders were open was £5,000 per person. Sultan's family consists of 8 people, so they need £40,000.
