Hello everyone,

My name is Sukhi Barua and I am currently battling Stage 4 rectal cancer. I came to the United States with my husband Mithun Chowdhury, and daughter in February 2011 with hopes of a brighter future. I later had my son in January 2012 and our family was complete. My husband and I bought our first home and it was a dream come true. Everything was going well until the excruciating pain started. November 4, 2021 was the day my world came crashing down. It was the day that I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. I had to quit my job because I was so ill. My husband being the main income earner had to quit his job to take care of me and made sure I didn’t miss any of my treatments. I have had radiation, 8 rounds of chemotherapy, and surgery in December 2022. I was in remission after my surgery and I was feeling my best since my diagnosis, until September 2023 in which the pain came back. In October of 2023 I was diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer with multiple complications and tremendous pain. At this time I cannot eat by mouth per my doctor’s orders and am taking nutrition through an IV and have started chemotherapy again. My wish is to live for my children and to be healthy. My husband is unable to provide for our family at this time as he is my care taker. Please, any amount will help our family and if you are unable to donate, please share my story.
