Help Sugar Queen Amy Rebuild

Hey y’all, I’m Nikki and one of my best friends (and one of my very first in CLT) is Amy Trochum. She recently sustained extensive damage to her precious home, where she also conducted her Sugar Queen Baking business, after a massive tree essentially chopped the house in half during the epic storms that tore through Charlotte on 8/7. She is currently unable to access the property and is therefore living with the clothes on her back and not much more. She is also unable to bake her incredible cookies for the foreseeable future. She is working through the insurance nightmare and will not ever get back what she put into both her house and livelihood, and in the short-term, she is without any income.

Amy is one of the kindest, most generous and loving and loyal and just all-around RAD humans I’ve ever known. Our back porch dates during COVID when I had a newborn were life-saving. She deserves all the love and support her community has to offer and then some. Please consider making a donation, however small, so she doesn’t have to spend the weeks and months ahead worries about financial hardship while she gets back on her feet. She isn’t one to ask for help, but let’s give it to her! Every cent donated will go directly to Amy.
