Like most people in the United States, my family and I are struggling. I recently started my journey to transition back in September of 2025 when finances have already been dire. With the economy, job market, cost of living, and medical expenses already high, I knew this was going to already be a challenging journey on top of everything else that happens with any sort of big life change or identity shift.
That said, the consistent struggle has been hanging by a very thin thread and the risks to my partner, our dog Luffy, and our livelihood are in jeopardy. We've been seemingly cursed to have some unexpected life hurdles come crashing down around us over the past year. Procedures for Luffy keep popping up, having someone hit my parked car, wear and tear on my partner's vehicle due to having to pick up a lot of hours with Instacarting for us to stay afloat, insurance denying my prescription requests for medicine that allows me to function, as well as the necessary HRT medication that I need to be able to properly transition and hopefully reach a point of consistent affirmation and comfort.
With the stack of medical fees, bills, as well as day to day needs to ensure we have food on the table while also paying to have necessary transportation and home repair costs, we are asking for any and all help from those who are able and willing. I truly hate that this keeps happening, and it is incredibly difficult to remember that this isn't a failing of my own but due to the structure of our world but specifically our country.
Whatever you are able to donate will help to ensure and put ease with the following things we are desperately struggling to afford:
- Car repairs for my partner and I
- Payment for Luffy's medication
- Payment for my own medication
- Guaranteed groceries for us
- Paying for HRT/transitioning costs that insurance will not cover (medication, surgeries, Gender Affirming Care, therapy, etc.)
We thank you for even clicking on this link and hearing our plea. We understand and are troubled in knowing that our story is not unique nor is it uncommon. So many of us are without community, solutions, nor are we able to make any progress when this country continues to pick us dry until we're left without food or home. Thank for you simply taking the time to read, and for any help you give with sharing our story, donating, and even in helping others in a similar position as ours. Sincerely and genuinely, we thank you.
Our gratitude to you,
Sue, Ace, and Luffy
