Earlier this spring Sue stopped feeling like herself. As somebody who works two jobs and consistently puts others first, we knew it was serious when she requested being taken to the Emergency Room. After a series of tests Sue was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer. She will begin a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy this week. Although this type of cancer is incurable, the hope is that treatment slows/ stops the spread and her symptoms can be managed.
This has been an extremely heavy diagnosis for Sue and her family. The wrath of cancer has already torn through their lives before. She lost her husband, Jim, to Melanoma cancer nine years ago. Her first instinct upon her diagnosis was to apologize to her daughters for them having to go through this again... Even after receiving extremely difficult news about her own health, her concern was for others before herself. Our hope is that the funds raised here will allow Sue to focus solely on herself, and not the financial strain that cancer treatments create.
Sue has a hard time asking for any help. She likes to be the one helping other people not the who needs help. Unfortunately this time it is out of her control. As a family we have decided to do this page for her. We want to take any stress off her shoulders that we can. She needs to focus on her treatments and kicking cancers butt!
