Sue is a Para athlete and disability advocate with a "big heart".
She has been selected to compete for Australia in the Paradragon Class at the 17th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships to be held this year in Germany.
Sue is a long standing and much loved member of the Wagga Bidgee Dragon Boat Club. She has become a talented para-athlete, defeating both breast and femur cancer.
Through every challenge, Sue has shown extraordinary resilience, determination, and strength. Now, Sue's preparing to make history as part of Australia’s very first Para Dragon Boat team competing on the world stage.
This is a moment of national pride, club pride, and personal triumph for Sue and we want to ensure she gets to Germany with the support she deserves.
Unlike other national representative sports, all training, travelling, equipment and accommodation costs are born by the individual athletes. No medal bonuses. No sponserships or handouts.
That's why we’re fundraising. To help cover the costs for;
* Airfares and travel to Germany ✈️
* Accommodation and meals ️
* Team uniforms and competition gear
* National training camps
We’re aiming to raise $10,000.00 to ensure Sue can focus on paddling, not expenses.
How you can help:
Every donation, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated. If you’re unable to give right now, please share this page to help spread the word.
Let’s stand behind Sue—cancer survivor, para-athlete, and Australian national representative—as Sue takes on the world in Germany with courage, heart, and the power of community behind her.
Thank you for your support!
