Hello everyone,

My name is Jeremy Savran, and my mom is Sue-Ann Schramm. I’m reaching out during what has become an incredibly difficult and emotional time for me and my family.

After many conversations with doctors and loved ones, we believe the best option for my mom in this final stage of life is to receive hospice care at a dedicated facility. She can no longer be left alone, and we want her to be in a place where she is as comfortable as possible, surrounded by people who specialize in this kind of care, not just for her, but for all of us as we begin to say goodbye.

We don’t know exactly how much time she has left, maybe months, maybe only a few weeks, but we want that time to be peaceful, safe, and centered on comfort and grace.

If you know my mom, you know she is one of the kindest people in the world. Even her doctor recently remarked that, after everything she has been through, she still remains friendly and positive. That’s just who she is, someone who has always shown up for others, quietly helping without ever asking for much in return.

But now, I’m afraid I need to ask on her behalf. Hospice care at a facility is expensive. Some things are covered by Medicare, but many essential costs are not, and they will add up quickly.
