Hello friends and caring souls. We are reaching out today requesting your help and support for Sue Blaisdell. Sue has had a nursing career spanning 52 years of helping others. Whether they were suffering from brain injuries, giving birth to newborn babies, or recovering from surgery, Sue was there for them. In June, Sue was diagnosed with a blood cancer and has been receiving chemotherapy to prepare her for a stem cell transplant in March. After enduring the expense of three hurricanes in two years, this onset of cancer was devastating. The cost of drugs, treatments, hospital visits, testing, along with the associated cost of travel to and from Tampa (160 miles round trip) has been overwhelming.

The most challenging part of the treatment is yet to come. She will be hospitalized on March 3rd to begin her transplant. The transplant is scheduled to be completed on the 13th. Once the transplant is complete, she will require up to six weeks of isolation in the hospital to rebuild her immune system. This will require temporary housing for her husband each week, along with travel expenses, hospitalization, additional drugs, and follow-up doctor and hospital visits once she is discharged. We are very hopeful and encouraged that this treatment will give Sue many more years with her family and friends in full remission.
