We all love Sue.
For those of us who know Sue, we know what a joy she is to be around; funny, charming, extremely smart, and most of all, so very loving. She's given us a lot, putting others first and pursuing the goodness of life. —Let's make this our turn to give back to her.
Every obstacle she's had, she’s taken one by one and never gave up. Now, in addition to all of the other very serious conditions she currently has, she just found out she also has a rare form of cancer.
She has been through so many health issues throughout her life, most of them so complicated and rare that she’s had to seek care at top healthcare centers. Some, like her brain tumor, are behind her now,...but she’s still fighting quite a few.
The list of conditions she currently has are:
• Rheumatoid Arthritis/ Sjogrens Disorder chronic for over 30 years
• Spontaneous Cerebral Spinal Fluid Leaks (treated at Stanford)
• Neck Spinal Instability (working with UCSF)
• Genetic Blood clotting disorder (5 Pulmonary Emboli in 2005)
• Multiple Tarlov Cysts up and down her spine filled with spinal fluid and pushing on nerves, probably body’s response to leaks (surgery in sacrum probably needed by Tarlov specialist in Sacramento)
• Fibromyalgia
• Pancreatitis attacks
• Failing Gallbladder
• Anal Cancer
In order to receive adequate treatment , she needs to go to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, one of the only hospital that specializes in this cancer.
She leaves on Saturday, September 8th with a one way ticket as they do not know the exact stage of the cancer or how long the treatment plan will take. She will be there for at least a month, having to pay $130/night on top of the unknown medical bill for the cancer treatment.
Sue already has a lot of medical bills she has been paying off. Her husband Paul is a retired cancer survivor himself. Sue has been the sole income of the household.
Please, please help Sue. Any little donations helps. I promise you, any extra day Sue lives on this planet, makes it a better place. Sue has her only daughter Lindsey’s wedding coming up on September 29th. She’s still too young, she needs to beat this cancer!
The goal is just a set amount as we do not know how expensive this whole thing is going to be. I will change the goal amount if Sue needs more financial support. Let’s help Sue, in any way we can, so that she has at least one less thing to worry about.
