Help Sue After Unexpected Loss

My name is Ashley, and I have started this GoFundMe to help my mother, Sue, through the loss of her husband, breadwinner, childhood sweetheart, soulmate.

On Christmas day of 2024 we lost my father, Scott, unexpectedly after being admitted to the hospital with a double lung pneumonia in Burlington. At the same time, my mother had been hospitalized in Hamilton for the same reason a couple days before, and was not able to be with him in his final moments. 

My dad was the sole provider in my parents' household, and also assisted my mother due to her physical limitations from years of health issues. Not to mention the emotional support that he provided to her, being her strength, stability, and anchoring her through life's storms. Scott was also an incredible dad to myself and my brother Josh. He had accepted my brother's fiancé and her daughter as family, and anticipated becoming a grandfather to baby James in April 2025. As a modest man, he probably wouldn't have guessed that he would be so missed by family, friends and co-workers.

Now, in January 2025, mom was experiencing pain and dizziness so we took her to the hospital. Thankfully the chest X-ray came back pneumonia clear. She is on the mend. Between having stresses of daily essentials, grieving Scott, having her own health concerns, the first month has been very overwhelming.

We have been overwhelmed by support from friends and family, who have asked what they can do to help. The best way to support us right now is by contributing toward something that will help my mom as she navigates this incredibly difficult period. Contributions will be used toward everyday essentials like groceries, bills and rent as she adjusts to this new chapter. Your generosity would mean so much to our family.
