Hello, Tawny Loa here, and I’m reaching out to share that my twin boys’ school, Kingsley-Pierson School , recently suffered a devastating water main break that severely damaged the entire building.
Our family moved from Las Vegas to Iowa during COVID in hopes of giving the boys a healthier, more stable environment during a challenging time. What we thought would be a short stay became long-term because of how much they’ve thrived here, thanks to a small town and school community that embraced us wholeheartedly.
Unfortunately, Kingsley-Pierson School is now facing a heartbreaking setback. The flooding caused extensive damage — classrooms, hallways, technology, equipment, and essential learning resources were destroyed, forcing all students back into online learning. Repairs are expected to take several months.

To support recovery efforts, I’ve chosen to independently launch this fundraiser so the Kingsley-Pierson team can focus on getting students back to in-person learning and managing the immediate crisis. This initiative will help replace supplies, restore learning spaces, support the temporary in-person learning solution that has been deployed, and help students and teachers regain a sense of normalcy.
Donors can trust that every dollar contributed will go exactly where indicated, directly toward supporting the school and its students during this challenging time.
