Hi my name is Kyra Whiteacre and I am a teacher at T.R. Smedberg Middle School in Elk Grove California. Two years ago, my students and I started the very first garden on campus. We were able to receive donations and build the garden beds we currently have. However, after Covid struck, we lost a lot of plants and the ability to raise money through school-run fundraisers. We have huge goals for this garden including: a compost, 2-3 new beds for spring vegetables, benches/tables for students to sit, and of course, new plants! Any donation moves us towards our goals and allows students to get hands on experience growing a sustainable garden. A garden gives back to the community and gives our students a peaceful place to unwind and cooperate to build something meaningful. Any donation is appreciated beyond measure!
