Support the Launch of Our Creative Space for Neurodivergent Artists
We are “Changelings & Co,” a collective dedicated to fostering a creative arts space specifically for neurodivergent artists. Today, we are excited to officially launch our project, which seeks to open up traditional constraints of the arts, promoting representation and accessibility for neurodivergent voices in all creative roles.
Our Mission:
Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where neurodivergent artists can explore their creativity on their own terms. Through collaborative directing and accessibility practices, we empower artists to shape their work according to their unique visions. This initiative aims to challenge existing practices in the arts, encourage collaboration, and promote innovative storytelling.
Why This Matters:
Research suggests that 10-30% of students in higher education may be neurodivergent. By providing a space that honors their experiences and creative expressions, we promote inclusivity and enrich the arts with diverse perspectives that challenge the status quo.
Our total budget is $4,500, which includes:
- Participant Pay: We believe in ethically compensating our participants, so we offer $100 per person for their contributions, totaling $900 for nine participants.
- Materials: Essential items like markers, name tags, and printing costs $85.
- Community Meals: We will provide six-day meals with a budget of $1,810, ensuring all dietary needs are accommodated.
- Travel: Covering gas, parking, and flights for our team, totaling $1,197.
- Miscellaneous Costs: Budgeted at $100 for unforeseen expenses.
- Apprentice Stipends: Compensation of $400 for our apprentice, Autumn, and stage manager, Elizabeth.
