My name is Britanie. I'm a dedicated high school student that is trying to make it in the world. I applied to Columbia's Summer Immersion Program with high hopes and although I did get accepted, the cost is too much for my family and I. I work hard to be where I am now despite my background and it upsets me that I'm limited because of my financial status. I worked hard to get into my dream private school even through I grew up in some of the worst neighborhoods in NYC. I was lucky to get financial aid but now, I have the chance of a life time to spread my wings even more and tap into my potential.

I have to respond to them in 15 days or else they'll move on to the next person down in line and if an opportunity like this passes me now,  I don't know when the next one will come rolling in. To those that contribute, I have no words. I'm grateful that there are people in the world that are willing to help those in need on this site and for me, that is something magical. And even if someone who can't contribute comes across this site, I wish you the best in life and that hopefully, good things will come your way!
