I’m Hallie, I live in Raleigh NC. My brother Stu and his family live in Chapel Hill. Their house flooded during the remnants of tropical storm Chantal on Sunday night, July 6, 2025. A nearby culvert was not able to handle the volume of water, and their sewage sump pump failed, resulting in 3 ft of nasty sewage water in their basement, ruining furniture, family photo albums, books, exercise equipment, and cherished memories. They had a restoration company come out and take out the ruined drywall which cost $10,000. They don’t live in a flood plain so they don’t have flood insurance. Luckily they got out in time and did not have damage to their HVAC, vehicles, water heater, or plumbing. I’ve started this fundraiser to show Stu and Jaimi that we care about them, that they are appreciated in their community, and we want them to get their basement back in time for basketball season!
