Help Strider Run Again: Support His CCL Surgery
Donation protected
Hello! I'm raising funds for CCL surgery for my dog, Strider.
Strider is a husky mix and is almost three years old now. He has the best personality and is endlessly curious about the world, rarely fearful, and almost always instant friends with anyone or anything he meets.
Strider is a rescue dog and had a challenging start to his life. He was taken in by an acquaintance in Texas after his litter wandered into her car park. Unfortunately, he and his littermates came down with Parvovirus and several of his brothers didn't make it. After a long, tough recovery, Strider eventually found his forever home with me in Wisconsin.
He helped me through the loss of my first dog and has become an incredible companion to me and my family. Strider loves to run, play with other dogs at the dog park, or fetch and he will usually listen and actually drop the ball when asked. Strider and I love to go hiking and explore all that nature has to offer in my corner of Wisconsin.
Earlier this year, on a trip to the dog park, Strider developed a limp. This was diagnosed as suspected CCL disease and potentially a partial CCL tear. The only real remedy for this in the long run is surgery. Recently, when playing fetch, he likely fully tore this ligament and is now lame in his back left leg. Obviously, this has severely affected his standard of living and he is really struggling to get around.
I hope to be able to get the necessary surgery for this soon, but this procedure is very expensive, around $6,000, and is not something that I can do for him alone any time soon. If you love dogs and want to help a little guy that has already gone through so much, I'd be forever grateful.
Thank you!
