Hi, my name is Gemma and my sister’s name is Luci. We are currently raising money for a cat I rescued in my neighborhood. I foster kittens regularly, but this particular cat found us. He has been hanging around our neighborhood for the past couple of years, but was never interested in anything more than an occasional can of cat food he would show interest in after we left. Just a few weeks ago he started seeking us out for attention. He would sit on our fence near our back entrance and wait for us to come out and then follow us around and rub against our legs while we were in the backyard.

We noticed his eyes looked infected and painful so we decided to help him. We originally made him a protected dog kennel bed outside to go in at night, but as the nights have been getting colder, we have made room for him in one of our bathrooms. We named him Goose; he is the sweetest cat- loves belly rubs (actual belly rubs), has discovered catnip mice and wants to hang close to someone when he can.
Goose appeared to be in pain, keeping his left eye closed most of the time. We took him to a consultation with a vet and learned his condition is called entropium, which the vet speculates is secondary to a herpes infection. This condition causes the bottom eyelids to roll inward, causing his lashes and fur to rub against his cornea. The treatment for this is surgery; the estimate is between 3100-4400 and does not include his before and aftercare.
We contacted the rescue we foster cats with, Fuzzy Butt; unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is too much for their small non-profit to handle right now. My sister and I are committed to helping him and are going to do everything we can to get Goose the medical care he needs so Fuzzy Butt can help find him a forever home. Our goal is to raise enough money for his surgery and aftercare and get him adopted into a loving home. Thank you for any help towards our goal of helping Goose.
*Any donations raised over the amount needed to cover the cost of surgery and medications will benefit other current cats in foster care
