Before you read ahead, I want to express the immense amount of gratitude I have for the support you all have shown the store, the community we're building, and just Hanna & I as human beings. We're lucky to know all of you. We don't want anyone to feel obligated or uncomfortable donating. What you already do means so much and just reading this means more! (OKAY I'LL STOP NOW!)
I'm sure you've noticed from the past few podcast episodes that the audio quality isn't great. I'm pretty particular about the quality of what we put out into the world and it bothers me! Because you're all such staunch supporters of what we do with this space that you help shape, and because so many folks have mentioned how much the podcast already means to them, we feel that you deserve the absolute best that Strange Ways can produce.
We're seeking a bit of funding to assist in purchasing new microphones that will be installed in our soon to be podcast studio. These will help provide a superior audio quality and help Strange Ways deliver the quality of podcast that you deserve!

Currently, the majority of editing (and basically ALL store work) is done on the store desktop computer that you see when checking out. A laptop or separate desktop computer is not in our possession or budget at the moment (sacrifices have to be made when running a small business without the big bucks!). We're looking for $500 to purchase a used/refurbished laptop or desktop computer to assist with the podcast as well as the multitude of daily tasks such as inventory management, building out our webstore, and bookkeeping that it takes to stay above board and keep the USS Strange Ways afloat.
As mentioned above, we know that none of this is a true necessity. We want no one to feel obligated to donate if you are unable or do not feel comfortable doing so. They support you have shown Strange Ways over the past year and the impact that you have made on both the store and the lives of Hanna and I mean more than words could ever express.
