Thought I had it all figured out...work hard on a film here in Texas and save enough to rent a truck and drive back out with my stuff to my little tinyhome in Northern California. I was so wrong...

The indie film was supposed to last at least 20 days, with another feature to be shot shortly after...But it all shuttered in half that time. Instead of getting paid even a low wage for twenty days, I was renegotiated down to less than minimum wage. I was in the middle of it, there wasn't much of an option...I needed the money to move. I'd just make it if the film shot for the intended duration, but it didn't. I was forced to sign acceptance of payment in full, in order to get that last little bit of cash...just enough to pay for the storage garage keeping my belongings, and a little food for me and my dog. We were assured there'd be a second feature starting up in just a couple weeks. I've been staying in a shed on a friends property stranded out a ways from town, and feeling that I've overstayed my welcome. But, told to 'hang in there', I did. I began trying to sell belongings LetGo, Craigslist, FB Marketplace...I've listed a bunch of stuff and sold only a couple things.  But, I managed to stay alive. I awaited the start of this second film. I even offered to help with some pre-production for fee, just to make sure that it would happen. BUT, despite being told it was a lock and that I'd be paid a higher wage...It hasn't happened. And now I'm stuck.

I'm running out of time and have maybe a week to get things figured out. I must evacuate the shed I'm in within the next 3 days, which means I will be living in a tent at some camping park somewhere? My storage garage is due another fee I can't afford at the end of the month. I only have a small scooter to get around with me and my little dog. This has made it very difficult to move things, or keep playing the constant meet people who want to buy things, but don't show up. I'm doing all that I can, but don't have any savings or credit cards. I have some stuff that helps me be creative, but even selling it isn't panning out (and once I have, it makes it tougher to make money in the future). So, on 1/24 I lose the shed I'm in and have to go camp out at a park (and even they charge $10-15 for a tent space) and aren't very close to my storage, I'd have to visit trying to continue to sell stuff. Which has this otherwise excited creative guy, more down than he's ever been. :(

So, I'm turning to GoFundMe on the prompting of a friend, to see if you all might help me each a little bit to get enough to cover the cheapest 12 foot moving truck and cover gas, to get me back home? Here's the breakdown:

$700 -- One-way, 12' Truck rental w/AAA discount

$300 -- Fuel charges driving 1800 miles (might be more)

* This is with me moving everything myself (far from the first time). I haven't accounted for any lodging, because I'll drive straight through and sleep in the moving truck where I can. This is NOT a vacation. No sightseeing. I have a little bit of food staples left (and dogfood), so I haven't asked for food or incidentals...this is baseline, bottom-dollar, just got to get outta here, no-nonsense need to get straight back home stuff.

Once, I get back to Northern California, I can try and figure out the rest of life once I get there, but having a place where I can regroup from and just not being able to get there is beyond depressing. Sure, I've had clients not pay me before, but I've just never been left at the bottom of it all like now. For any help, aid or assistance, I am so truly thankful and will work to do something creatively special for each one of you who do aid me in this time of need.  I'm ready to go at any moment, soon as I have enough funds.
