Services will be held Friday, October 11th at Shawgos in Astoria.
If you knew Stormy, you know that he lit up a room when he walked into it. Not to be cliché, he truly did.
There wasn't a moment that you could be sad around him; he always knew how to make people laugh. In fact, he knew that, and I think it's safe to say he took pride in being the "class clown." I have so many funny stories and memories about him, and I'm sure anyone that spent any amount of time with him will say the same.
Unfortunately, Stormy had been living with congestive heart failure for some years now, with only 10% function in his heart. Due to this, he had many stays at the hospital.
In the end of September, Stormy ended up in the ICU, was released, and had an appointment to be fitted for a life vest to be worn for 3 months while waiting to be put on the transplant list. However, he ended up back in the hospital the same night he was released.
He went into cardiac arrest twice before being life-flighted to Quincy, where he stayed on a ventilator for a week with a rotation of family and friends by his side. Unfortunately, once sedation was lifted, his family's biggest fear was confirmed. He had suffered brain damage.
On 10/08/24 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, an Honor Walk was held for Stormy. Hospital staff lined the hall as he was wheeled back to the OR so that someone like him, someone that needed a transplant, might be able to live a little longer.
Stormy's flag being raised
In honor of Stormy and his donations of life, a flag will fly for 3 days at Blessing Hospital.
Here is a post from his brother, Chad Peitzmeier, on 10/8/24:
As you see, Stormy did just that. For not one, but two families. If you ask me, that is the greatest honor, and if I knew Stormy, I know that, that is exactly what he would have wanted.
Stormy left us to rejoin his mother and his father at 12:34 PM on 10/8/24.
The final arrangements are on his siblings to make. His family has gone through so much watching him fight on a ventilator, and the last thing they should have to worry about is how to pay for their brother's final arrangements.
Rikki and Stormy
I was asked by Stormy's family to make this. With that being said, I'd like to give a breakdown of where the money will be going and is needed:
- Visitation expenses (casket rental, etc.)
- Cremation
- Other miscellaneous funeral home expenses

Please consider helping this family out if you have the means to do so. It would help eliminate some of the stress Stormy's family is going through in one of the toughest times of their lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read. I hope this gives a glimpse into the situation and why it is important that this family gets the help they need. If you can't help financially, please consider sharing. Prayers are much appreciated as well!
