Help Stormy Recover: Support Her Vet Bills

Donation protected
Hi everyone. I am not one to ask for help, but several people have reached out to me asking if they can help with Stormy's vet bills at OVRS. As of now, she is in the critical care unit and will be there for at least 4 more days. Her bills are probably going to reach $15,000 or more, and I am more than happy to max out credit cards and slowly pay them off, but any kind of help would be amazing and appreciated more than you know.

Stormy had some kind of infection when she underwent a simple surgery to remove a suspicious lump on her tail. I brought her home Wednesday, 9/11, and she was groggy but fine. She had a few small meals but didn't have any water. On Thursday, 9/12, my friend Katie took her for a walk (as I hurt my foot putting Stormy in the car the day before) and sent me pics via text that she was having some major bloody stools. It was worse than that. She was literally pooping blood water, and even that doesn't describe it. I got her back to our local vet about 1 pm, where they gave her fluids and an anti-nausea shot, hoping that would clear things up. It didn't, and she continued to get lethargic and have blood water diarrhea, so we rushed off to OVRS and got there about 8 pm.

She was taken into triage immediately, and after about 3 hours, I was able to speak to a doctor. Her blood work came back, and she had very low white blood cell and neutrophil counts, which means some kind of infection. She was able to walk into the room so I could give her goodbye kisses for the night, so she was a little stronger than when we arrived. On Friday, I got the call that she was very slowly improving, but that they wanted to be more aggressive with her treatment and moved her to critical care (doggie ICU). The deposit I put down for $4900 was to cover 48 hours in the regular hospital. I was informed that critical care was more expensive, and now it's going to be 6 or more days for her at OVRS.

Her blood work is slowly improving, but she now has heart arrhythmia (perhaps because of the abdominal issue?), so she is wearing an EKG and receiving meds to keep her heartbeat normal. She has a nasal feeding tube to keep her getting food/nutrients, has a catheter in each back leg (one for fluids, one for meds), and is now very anxious and barking a lot, so they are also sedating her a little. I just want her back home so bad and am so heartsick that she is going through this trauma.

Any donations would go straight to her vet bills and would be greatly appreciated. If you cannot donate, I understand, and thank you for reading all of this and sending me well-wishes. If you are friends with people who know me, sharing this post would be fantastic. I am not sure how to end this, so thank you all so much for the love for my dogs over the years. They (Lily, Zoey, and Stormy) are my babies and make the world a much better place. Love you!!
