With advanced pancreatic cancer, Stormy hasn't yet fulfilled his lifelong dream of stepping foot in Africa.
Just days ago, Stormy and Meier learned--not only that Stormy had cancer--but that he likely only has months to live. Against all odds and in an incredible act of love, Stormy's partner, Meier, is dropping everything to make sure that Stormy can reconnect with his ancestors in the time he has left.
But they need our help to get them there.
Both Stormy and Meier are pillars of the Madison and Milwaukee communities--care providers, community members, active in their respective faiths... and they show up for people.
If you know Stormy or Meier, you know that it is difficult for them to be the ones asking for help.
Let's show up for them like they've shown up for us.
Donations will cover:
- Flights to and from Africa (specific destination TBD--wherever is easiest to get to!)
- Transportation and lodging while traveling to, and in, Africa
- Food while traveling to, and in, Africa
- Opportunities for Stormy and Meier to build memories together while in Africa
- Funds will be used to cover costs surrounding relevant paperwork (e.g., power of attorney), continued celebration of Stormy's life, support of Meier, and to care for the recently adopted, JuJu--a 4-year-old super-genius pitbull-mastiff mix.
If traveling to Africa is not possible for medical or visa reasons, funds will instead be used to create memories stateside.
