Hi, my name is Courtney. I am writing this on behalf of Lorena, the owner of Stormi. Stormi means the world to Lorena and her two kids. Stormi is an 8-month-old American Bully full of life and loves nothing more than to be around people and play with her four-legged friends. She would play all day if you let her. Unfortunately, Stormi was involved in a tragic accident on September 9th. She escaped out of the house and wandered to a neighbor's house. The neighbor retaliated and struck Stormi numerous times with a bat-like object leaving her unable to walk. Stormi would never intentionally hurt someone. Stormi never made contact with the neighbor and showed no sign of aggression. She was defenseless against her attack. Our hearts are breaking seeing Lorena struggle to keep Stormi comfortable while Lorena tries to get the money together for surgery. Stormi is currently being hospitalized to try to manage her pain. At night Lorena takes her home into her care, so she is not alone at the hospital. She is currently unable to move her back legs, needs to be on a 24-hour regimen of pain meds, and needs to be lifted out to be able to go to the bathroom, so she does not go on herself. Lorena is balancing this alone while taking care of her two kids. There is hope if she can get her procedure; the sooner, the better. We need to start with an MRI to assess what kind of surgery she will need, and the minimum cost for her to go into surgery will be approximately $10,000. Stormi does not deserve to go through all this pain as she is just an innocent, curious puppy. We hope one day to give her the ability to walk, grow, and live her life to the fullest. We owe it to Stormi to give her a second chance. If you are reading this, please keep Lorena, Stormi, and her family in your prayers. We look forward to being able to provide any updates.
