Hi everyone,
This is so hard to write, but I’m asking for help to save our beautiful dog, Storm.
Storm is a four-year-old Samoyed — the happiest, fluffiest, most loving boy you could ever meet. We rescued him when he was one, knowing he had some hip difficulty, but nothing close to what we’ve learned now.
Today we were told after an x-ray (which alone cost £650) that Storm has the worst case of hip dysplasia our vet has ever seen. The bones don’t even sit in the sockets anymore. He’s been living with pain every single day of his life, and now he can barely walk. Seeing him struggle to take even a few steps breaks my heart.
The only way to give Storm a pain-free life is a total hip replacement, and the cost is around £12,000 (£6,000 per hip). Our insurance won’t cover it — they’ve only covered the x-ray — and we simply don’t have the funds to do this on our own.
The vet has told us the hardest thing to hear: it’s either this surgery or end-of-life care. I can’t bring myself to accept that. He’s only four. We never thought we could have children, so we built our family around our dogs. Storm, Luna, and Hunter are everything to us.
We’re massive dog lovers. We even rehomed Storm’s brother also who now lives happily with my mum. These dogs have carried us through the toughest times in life, and now it’s Storm who needs saving.
I hate having to ask, but we’re desperate. If you can spare anything — no matter how small — it will help us get closer to giving Storm the life he deserves. If you can’t donate, please share this page so we can reach more people.
Every share, every kind word, and every donation means the world to us. From the bottom of my heart — thank you for reading, and thank you for caring about our boy.
With love,
Laura
Storms mum ❤️
