Support Storm Pouliot: A True Son of Fairfax is in Need of Our Help

Dear Friends and Community,

After waiting so long, Storm finally received a new kidney! He now needs our help!

We are reaching out to you today to support a beloved member of our Fairfax community, Storm Pouliot. Storm, 33 years old, is a lifelong Fairfax resident who moved to Fairfax in 1994 with his mother and father, Linda and Jeff Pouliot. Storm is a proud graduate of BFA Fairfax School, where he attended from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Throughout his years at BFA, Storm was deeply involved — he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, performed in school musicals, was one of only two students selected to attend Gospel Fest at the Flynn Theater, served as President of the Vermont Student Leadership Project, and represented BFA as a Students Against Destructive Decisions delegate member in Washington D.C. Storm truly embodies the spirit of Fairfax.

Storm’s mother, Linda Pouliot, has also been a cornerstone of our community for over 30 years. Since 1998, she has dedicated herself as a paraeducator at BFA Fairfax, shaping the lives of countless children. If your child has attended BFA in the last three decades, it’s very likely Mrs. Pouliot has worked with or around them in some way. Her commitment to our community is unwavering.

In 2013, at just 20 years old, Storm was diagnosed with kidney failure and began dialysis treatments that lasted six hours a day, three times a week. In 2017, he was blessed with a kidney transplant. Tragically, that kidney failed within months, and Storm returned to dialysis for 18 hours each week.

This past Monday, September 1st, hope arrived in the form of a phone call — there was a kidney available that matched Storm’s rare blood type at a hospital in Tampa, Florida. Within hours, Storm and his mother flew to Tampa, where the life-changing transplant was performed that same evening.

While we celebrate this incredible step forward, Storm and Linda now face the challenge of staying near the hospital for at least three months to ensure the kidney’s viability. Along with their usual mortgage and rental expenses, they now need financial assistance to cover accommodations, transportation, food, and daily necessities during this crucial time.

We ask you to please consider donating whatever you can to help Storm and Linda through this journey. Every dollar brings them closer to stability and healing. Please also share this message with your friends and family to spread the word.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support for one of Fairfax’s own.

With heartfelt gratitude, from a friend, a co-worker, and a community member of Fairfax,
Timothy Daly
