Storm is my 2-year-old Cane Corso and she means everything to me. She was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma, and without urgent treatment she may only have 2-4 months left to live unless she can receive the treatments she needs. She has already lost almost 15 pounds, but with a 19-week chemotherapy plan, she has a very strong chance to survive because of her age. She did not eat for days, but with the medication I was given she is now eating a little.
I’ve been working 2 jobs and doing everything I can, but I can no longer manage the cost alone, especially since insurance won’t cover her treatments. Seeing the drastic change in her mood, weight drop and energy so suddenly has torn me apart, but I can tell she’s trying to fight. Storm has been by my side through everything and my strength with my own battle with Sickle Cell Disease. She’s been my comfort, companion, and strength when I needed it most. Losing my grandfather, who raised me, to cancer was the most painful experiences of my life. Hearing that Storm now has cancer felt like reliving that pain all over again. Now, I want to be there for her the way she’s always been there for me.
Every donation will go directly toward Storm’s chemotherapy, medication, hospitalization, and any other treatments to fight this. No amount is too small and every contribution one step closer to survival. I never had pets growing up, so, Storm is not just my first dog, she’s my family, my daughter and my heart. Hearing that she has cancer at such a young age is devastating, but I am determined to do everything I can for her.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. That alone could help reach someone who can. With everything in me, I want to thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can give. You’re giving Storm a chance to live.
