A year ago, I was laid off after 13 years with the same company. Like a lot of people, I believed I would get back on my feet faster than I have. Severance helped for a while, and unemployment helped for a while, but both have run out.

Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to get re-employed. I’ve stayed active in the job market, gone deep into interview processes, and come close more than once, but close does not pay the mortgage or keep the lights on. I believe stable employment is within reach, but I need help buying time until it arrives.

I’m a single dad of three girls, and right now my focus is simple: keep a roof over their heads, keep the household stable, and make it through this stretch without losing our home.

This fundraiser is for mortgage payments and essential bills while I work to get fully back on my feet. I’m not asking for a free ride. I’m asking for temporary help during a hard season that I am actively working to get through.
