Hi - My name is Dr. Kavemuii Murangi, a resident of Maryland, USA. I was born in Namibia and still have friends and relatives there. I have watched with horror as the number of COVID infections and deaths have grown. Namibia is now going through a 3rd wave with unparalleled destruction. June 16, 2021, recorded 2075 cases of new infections. Hospitals are running out of beds or oxygen to treat patients.
Several issues are complicating efforts to stem and eradicate COVID-19:
There is a lack of clear, consistent, and authoritative information about the benefits and limitations of vaccinations. There is misinformation about vaccinations that cause many people to refuse vaccination even with death all around them.
After more than a year of social distancing, wearing face masks, and other restrictions, many people have become weary and lowered their guard or given up. Practices such as social distancing and avoiding cultural and social events go against norms and face constant resistance.
a) Your donations will raise awareness about vaccinations and their benefits and the need to continue to wash or sanitize hands and maintain social distance.
b) Besides infomercials via TV, radio and Facebook, and other social media, the project will offer incentives where vaccinated individuals can enter their names to win a prize.
c) Your donations will also help purchase much-needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies and deliver supplies to remote areas.
