Even before we were married, Calley and I would talk about the day we own a house, what we would do to it, animals we would have and growing together in a place that was our own. We got married September 22nd 2018 and put the vast majority of any monetary gift towards paying off debt a d the rest towards savings. This year around march we were climbing closer and closer to having our downpayment ready.
Then one night Calley wakes up with an agonizing pain in her abdomen. At first it was unclear if it was worthy of a trip to the hospital, but that next morning the pain persisted. After imaging was done a mass was found on her ovary. From there it all went so fast it still doesnt feel real. She had surgery last week, 6.5 hours it lasted. The cancer had spread more than was predicted. At the age of 26 my wife had to have both ovaries, her uterus and lymphnodes removed. The doctors were able to remove all signs of cancer that they could see. The doctor mentioned if it were a 65 year old patient they would have been celebrating how well the surgery went, but was a bittersweet success. No one should have to go through this at 26.... or ever.
In 4 to 6 weeks she will start Chemo they are saying the success chance of curing it completely is about 70%
We haven't seen any bills come through yet. With full disclosure we have support on the bills from my father. However, I put this up for one reason. I don't want this to push off our goal of owning a house. She's saved so well her whole life, she's been an amazing person and too good to go through all of this. My wish is to get that house despite the cancer. It's one peice of happiness money can bring her right now. No one owes me anything, this isnt for me. Life dealt Calley a really horrible card, and I want to give her something to look at that inspires hope. I would start working 2 jobs if it didnt mean leaving her alone during this time to push us closer to the goal while she fights this.
I thank you for considering this, and if you do contribute it means the world to us. If you are unable to I would still like to thank you for reading until this point.
Apologies for any grammatical issues, today has been an especially long day and it's getting late.
Thank you all,
Brian.
