My name is Stone Waters, and I’m the writer behind The Girl with the Fang Shadow, a Young Adult, dark fantasy coming-of-age comic about trauma, survival, education, and the unseen forces that protect us. I’ve completed the master script for the 23-page debut issue, and I’m incredibly proud of how far this story has come. At the heart of it are Maya and Umbra: Maya, a young girl who survives a childhood car crash, and Umbra, her shadowy protector who emerges from that darkness. The journey began with an 8-page prologue, and now the full 23-page script is complete and ready for professional illustration—bringing us one massive step closer to opening doors with publishers and agents.

Right now, the biggest obstacle is turning that finished script into a professional pitch package. As a new writer, I’ve learned that publishers rarely consider text-only comic scripts, which means I need to hire an illustrator to create the first 8 pages, along with concept art, so the project can be presented the right way. I can’t afford that out of pocket, and that’s why I’m asking for help. Where the Money Goes?
