Help Baby Stokely Face Epilepsy

Donation protected
Amber and Shaun's baby has been diagnosed with epilepsy, and, in this acute period, they need to raise at least $30K for medical expenses and constant care.

In January 2024, Stokely was born, a beautiful Black baby boy. Amber and Shaun's first child together was instantly loved by a whole community. Two months ago, Stokely began suffering from seizures, each longer than the last. Doctors have finally diagnosed Stokely with epilepsy, but are still running genetic tests to find the right treatment plan to suppress the seizures. While the seizures continue, Stokely needs 24 hour round the clock care. Will you help Amber and Shaun raise at least $30K to provide the acute care needed for this precious child?

Acute care means Stokely cannot go to daycare or be left with a caregiver other than his parents. Acute care means frequent trips by ambulance to the hospital. Acute care while also breastfeeding means maintaining employment as a contractor is increasingly difficult, with no sick days or disability benefits available. Rent, food, and medical bills have already piled up and we don't know when the genetic test results will come in or what they will reveal in terms of treatment. Will our community step in and support this family in their time of need? Will we stand in for each other as our movement and principles suggest we must? If the answer is yes, please give what you can, no gift is too small to be deeply appreciated.

If you have faced health and life crisis, and know how it feels to need; if you know what it is to be unable to protect a child from uncertainty and pain; if you want to support two amazing Black parents whose own recent losses make this moment even more difficult, then please make whatever gift you can, however large or small to help us get to our initial goal of $30K.

Let's place Amber, Shaun, Stokely and their oldest child Cas at the center of our loving circle of care. Help us raise $30K.
