Help Stiv Recover from a Medical Emergency
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
Stiv Wilson is experiencing some serious health challenges and needs our support.
In early April, Stiv noticed that he was having trouble catching his breath. He went to Urgent Care on April 8 and was swiftly hospitalized with heart failure due to a congenital ‘leaky aortic valve’ that needed to be replaced. On April 14 he had open-heart surgery in Seattle to replace this valve, which was successful. Since then he has been recuperating from the physical and psychological shocks of this experience, and doing great with his rehabilitation, even walking twice without assistance on 4/22. Unfortunately, early the next morning a duodenal ulcer started to bleed; due to his condition, it took some time to stabilize him enough to clip the ulcer. He is now recovering from this setback. He’s doing great but will be in the hospital for a longer stay to monitor his condition before he resumes rehab from the surgery and is eventually discharged to outpatient rehab.
We are anticipating that he will have medical bills for services not covered by his insurance and will need financial support in his recovery otherwise. We are starting with a $20,000 goal but anticipate that this will need to be raised (and will update it when we have more information). Thank you very much for any support you can provide!
