Help Fix Stirling's Arm Bone
Hey everyone, It's me, Stirling Little.
For those that do not know me: I am an art student, bartender, frequent right hand user, and whole-bone enthusiast. Unfortunately, a recent accident has broken one of my bones, making it impossible to draw, tend bar, do anything using my right hand. To make it worse, I am uninsured.
On February 22 I was hit by a car while riding my bike. The car did not stop and there was not a traffic camera in the area. It is very unlikely that we will find the driver now. In addition to a number of minor injuries, this broke my right radius bone.
A broken radius prevents me from working almost any job that I am trained to do and has forced me to temporarily withdraw from school.
The good news is that surgery and time will fix this. The bad news is that I did not have health insurance and the hospital bills are going to be crippling. I have no health insurance so I'll be taking on the costs myself.
We don't know the exact cost of the procedure yet but we are learning more every day. Research has led me to a rough, tentative 15k estimate. My inability to do my regular work is also a pretty disastrous financial hit.
Unaided, monthly medical bills would be impossible to pay while still attending school. But if I cease attending school, my student loan payments will begin. These combined, after months of not being able to do any real work, would be devastating.
And so I have no choice but to ask for help, please. Any amount you can donate could help keep my future on track. Even a small amount makes a difference. Sharing this page with anyone also helps.
