Sticks has been my best friend since I got him. When I was going through a tough time after transitioning from the Marine Corps, he was always there for me, pulling me out of a dark place in my life . We moved from California to Ohio, and not long after, Sticks developed a very bad infection that hasn’t been getting better. I’ve taken him from vet to vet, hoping for answers, but 8 months later, now a specialist says he needs a series of panels and tests to figure out what’s going on, they’re worried about cancer, and they said that no matter what he’ll never have full function in his leg again. The costs are overwhelming, to include multiple panels and surgery, and that’s not even including whatever treatment he might need after the diagnosis.
Sticks is a goofy, loving dog who always finds a way to make me smile. I named him cause he swallowed and choked on a stick, and the name just stuck. He loves to lay on his back and play with his toys, loves to be with you and when it’s time to sleep, he insists on curling up right by my head. He’s clingy in the best way, always making sure I’m close and that he’s getting plenty of head scratches. He has a special way of making everyone around him happier—he helps others just as much as he’s helped me, and I need to help me like he did me
Every donation will go directly toward Sticks’ testing, treatment, medication, and any unexpected costs that come up as we try to get him healthy again. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this with others can make a huge difference. Thank you so much to anyone who helps—your support means the world to both of us. I will update with pictures and responses as we go through this hard time
