Help Stevie get to Maine
Donation protected
Hi guys! I’m coming to you guys for help getting our boy Stevie from Florida to Maine.
Stevie is a beautiful and healthy boy under 2 years old.
We got a call that there was a skinny white dog roaming around the streets of Fort Lauderdale Florida. Stevie was emaciated, filthy and had some battle wounds from his time on the street. Iheart animal rescue took him in and got him vetted and healthy. I asked every single south Florida rescue and they were full to capacity. The dog situation is pretty terrible in south Florida and homes for bullies are almost nonexistent. If any need extra training they are often out to sleep. Iheart didn’t have the space but still they made room for him and for that I’m very grateful!
However, 7 months later and Stevie has still not been adopted. They are moving their dogs to other rescues since they are so overwhelmed but Stevie is a special case and he can’t just go anywhere. We’ve learned that he does not trust certain people. We believe some men seem to be a trigger for him. Unfortunately the rescue that he’s with doesn’t have the resources or volunteers to get him the training and attention that he needs. He’s just a baby and deserves the best of the best.
Many of you know me from Blues rescue and I want to get Stevie the help he needs BEFORE he becomes like blue. I was given the information to a wonderful sanctuary/ rescue in Maine owned by a trainer. She is CPDT-KA and specializes in behavior modification, using positive reinforcement. exactly what Stevie needs!!! Blue’s previous rescue (Saving Sage Animal Rescue) saw how I was struggling with Stevie and they gave me their contact for this sanctuary so I could reach out and transfer Stevie over.
This is Stevie’s BEST chance. Getting out of south Florida and into a rescue where he will acres to run, be trained by a professional and have a better chance at getting adopted into an experienced home. We are trying to fundraise $5,300 that will cover a donation to the rescue that is spending time and money on his training and daily care. They were almost at capacity and thankfully were moved by Stevie’s story so we would love to surprise them with a generous donation. They deserve MUCH more. Also, the costs for transporting Stevie to Maine. It’s an over 24 hour one way trip. A total of 3,416 miles round trip. I have seen the power of social media first hand and and I hope for Stevie’s sake we are able to get the help we need to bring him home
please donate and share! Thank you guys!!
