Hello everyone, Patrick and John here.

As those of you close to us may know, Steve Starnes passed away earlier today, June 7th, 2026. Steve was a kind, compassionate man who would give you the shirt off his back to ensure you wouldn't go without. He will be sorely missed by all who've been graced with his presence.

Now, to the point of this gofundme:

Back in late 2025, the pipes, water main, and water heater at our house started to fail, causing multiple leaks around the house which resulted in damage to the floors as well. Since then, we've had to have our water shut off and have relied on buckets of water gathered from various sources in order to flush our toilet, wash our hands, and have water to wash dishes with. We tried for months and explored different options to fix this. Steve even checked out an option offered by the government to senior citizen homeowners to cover the costs of house repairs. Ultimately, we came to learn that that program is no longer offered due to budget cuts made under the Trump administration to these programs which aided those of lower incomes like us.

Steve, up to the end, expressed his regrets about not being able to resolve this matter and take care of this issue before his passing. That's why we're coming here to ask for donations to help us cover the cost of these expensive, but necessary repairs. We've explored almost every option available, but have had terrible luck with each of them. So we're asking for anyone who is able and willing to please donate to our house repair fund. Even if you cannot donate, a share on social media to your friends and families would be greatly appreciated.
