My family—myself, my 8-year-old son, and his mother—recently experienced a devastating house fire that took everything from us. In a matter of moments, we lost our home, our belongings, and the sense of security we had built together. The fire has left us starting over from scratch, and it’s been incredibly hard to see my son and his mother go through this.
