Help Steven Walk Again

Steven is my sweet, playful, and energetic dog who has always filled our home with joy. Just a few days ago, he was running around, chasing squirrels, hopping over the garden fence, and wrestling with his best friend Lillie. Suddenly, one morning, Steven couldn’t walk without falling. I rushed him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with Intervertebral disc disease. The vet believes he likely herniated a disc, which is now pressing painfully against his spinal cord nerve roots and tender dorsal longitudinal ligament.

It is truly heartbreaking to see Steven like this. He has lost the ability to stand, walk, and even control his bladder and bowels. The vet explained that the first sign is losing conscious proprioception—the ability to know where his feet are. As the nerves are affected, he could lose voluntary motion and even pain sensation. Thankfully, Steven still has some deep pain sensation, which gives us hope for his recovery.

This situation is also financially very difficult for me, as I am currently unemployed and a full-time student. Spinal surgery is Steven’s best chance to regain his mobility and quality of life. The first steps are advanced imaging, like a CT scan or MRI, followed by immediate surgery. The funds raised will go directly toward these urgent medical expenses and his aftercare. Any help you can give means the world to us. Please consider donating or sharing Steven’s story to help him get back to the happy, active life he loves.
