My name is Lucus, and I am a close friend of Jeffrey and Steven. I am creating this GoFundMe to help support Steven during an unimaginable loss and the difficult days ahead.

Jeffrey was more than a husband he was family to so many of us, a friend, a brother, an uncle, and just a little bit of a menace. His presence, heart, and spirit touched countless lives, especially within the Detroit LGBTQ+ community and beyond.

His absence is deeply felt. Jeffrey and Steven shared twelve years of marriage, partnership, and love. On Monday, February 9th, 2026, at 3:43 PM, Steven lost his husband, his best friend, and his anchor.

This fundraiser is intended to help ease the financial burden Steven may face as he navigates grief, arrangements, funeral expenses, and daily necessities while he heals and finds his footing. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help provide support, stability, and breathing room as he begins to move forward without the person he built his life beside.
