Hello my name is Sarah Guevara. I'm posting here today on behalf of my wonderful husband Steven Guevara. Steven is a hard working husband and devoted father to our two sons aged four and nine. He is 38 years old and is the main breadwinner in our family while I homeschool our sons full time.

Just before Christmas we learned that Steven has renal cell carcinoma. This is a kidney cancer that has grown on his left kidney. Due to the position of the tumor, the whole kidney will need to be removed to save his life. With further imaging tests completed, we do not believe the cancer has spread at this time. His doctor is recommending that he have a radical nephrectomy as soon as possible to keep the cancer from spreading.

We are asking for your donation and support of this campaign to be able to fund his surgery, which is tentatively set for January 18th 2022. For that to be able to proceed we need to come up with our insurance deductible and max out of pocket which is $6000. Steven will be in the hospital to recover for two days if all goes well. He will then be out of work for around six weeks while he heals from surgery.

 

Every bit of support that we get from this campaign will be used to get our family through this struggle. Our children are still so young and need their father around for many years to come.
