"Help with Moving Expenses After TBI in OKC

Hello, my name is Steven, and I’m reaching out with a humble request for help to start a new chapter after a life-altering event.

In March 2019, a random act of violence left me with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that changed everything. Overnight, I went from being independent and successful to struggling with memory loss and relying SSDI.

Despite these challenges, I’ve kept pushing forward, and now I need your support to relocate and rebuild. For years, my fiance was my rock, helping with daily tasks like cooking, doctor visits, and managing our home. We moved from California to Oklahoma City seeking better care

Two years in, she decided return to California for her own well-being - I completely understand her decision - and in a way, it’s helped me rediscover my strength and come out of my shell. But it also left me facing a tough reality: I’m now covering rent alone, caring for her two cats, and unable to renew my lease because my income doesn’t meet the requirements.

My lease ends on July 1, and I need to find a new home—fast. With my memory issues, planning a move feels overwhelming. I’m doing my best, donating plasma twice a week for $140 to make ends meet, but it’s not enough to cover rent, bills, and the costs of relocating, like movers since I still don't have a vehicle myself, a deposit, or basic supplies. I have a 1 bedroom apts worth of furniture but am happy to downsize to a studio to keep things affordable.

My two cats, unexpected have become companions and are coming with me, and I want to give them a stable home, too. I’m asking for $3,000 to cover moving expenses, a security deposit, and essentials to settle into a new place.

This funding will help me avoid homelessness, stay independent, and focus on healing. Every dollar counts, whether it’s $5 or $50, and even sharing this campaign with your network and friends mean the world. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my story and considering supporting me.
